On behalf of the Time Variance Authority, Agent Mobius asked Loki to help them catch a fugitive, which turned out to be a rogue variant of himself. Together, they discovered a loophole in the TVA’s security: that one can hide in apocalypses and do whatever they want without being detected because they can’t create a diverging branch there.
Later, Loki and Mobius debated the meaning of life and free will. Mobius would like to keep working for the TVA until the Time-Keepers could finish their job so that everyone could meet in peace at the end of time, which made Loki confused. He, on the other hand, believed that even if the TVA claimed to be doing the right thing, it was not.
Eventually, they pinned down the fugitive at Roxxcart Mall in Haven Hills, Alabama, 2050. However, the fugitive ambushed them once again and bombed the Sacred Timeline by sending countless Reset Charges to different places at different times so that the TVA could become vulnerable and she could infiltrate it.
